Helpful Household Hints

Keep those kitchen drains clean Hint #1:  Pour 1/2 cup of baking soda down the drain and follow with 1-2 cups of cheap household vinegar or lemon juice. After a minute, let hot water flow down the drain for a good minute or so. Then, completely flush out the drain, with LOTS of cold tap water.

Keep those kitchen drains clean Hint #2:  Pour a cup of salt and a cup of baking soda down the drain followed by a pot of boiling water. This'll get the grease out fast.

Sewer service lines Hint #1:  Many sewer line problems are a result of tree roots seeking water and finding their way into sewer lines. Sewer repairs are expensive and sewer backups are a royal pain, expensive and disgusting. Tree roots don't like bleach so pick up several gallons of cheap bleach and every month or two pour a gallon of bleach down your most used sinks! That'll teach those roots!
